Grey Rowing 1st VIII Crew
Up Grey Up!
Rowing is one of the most physically demanding sports in the word. it requires great levels of concentration and mental toughness, in order to endure the training, and the burning muscles during a race.
Grey High School Rowing 1st VIII Crew have achieved phenomenal results this season. The team has taken part in the EC Sprint Regatta in Grahamstown (3rd place); Rock the Boat Regatta in Roodeplaat, Pretoria (5th out of 123 boats); the Buffalo and Selborne Regattas in East London and SA School Championships in Pretoria.
Grey Rowing Club annually hosts a Rowathon not only as a club fundraiser but also as a community outreach programme to contribute towards the Igazi Foundation. This foundation aims to increase awareness, advocates treatment (specifically bone marrow transplants), provides support for haematologists and the treatment of haematological diseases and helps provide for their inpatients and outpatients. The 2015 Rowathon raised R15 000 for this worthy foundation.
